Bachelor of Geomatics

Entrance Requirements

Admission into the Bachelor of Geomatics Degree Programme shall be as stipulated in the General Regulations

Admission into Level 100 of the BGeom Degree Programme shall be a minimum requirement of BGCSE with a D grade in English and a C grade in Mathematics and Physics and any one of Chemistry or Biology or a minimum of Grade B in Science Double Award.

Admission into Level 200 of the Bachelor of Geomatics Degree Programme shall be as stipulated in the General Admission Regulations.

Bachelor of Engineering (Mining Engineering)

Entrance Requirements

Admission to the Bachelor of Science (Mining Engineering) Degree shall be as stipulated in the Faculty Special Regulations 21.10.

The normal minimum requirements for admission to level 200 for a degree program shall be satisfactory completion of level 100 of the Bachelor of Science (General) degree of the Faculty of Science or equivalent institution with at least C grades in Mathematics, Chemistry and Physics.

Bachelor of Engineering (Mineral Engineering)

Entrance Requirements

Admission to the Bachelor of Engineering (Mineral Engineering) Degree shall be as stipulated in the Faculty Special Regulations 21.10.

The normal minimum requirements for admission to level 200 for a degree program shall be satisfactory completion of level 100 of the Bachelor of Science (General) degree of the Faculty of Science or equivalent institution with at least C grades in Mathematics, Chemistry and Physics.

Bachelor of Engineering (Construction Engineering and Management)

Entrance Requirements

Admission to the Bachelor of Engineering (Construction Engineering and Management) Degree shall be as stipulated in Faculty Special Regulation 21.10.

Programme Structure

The Programme for the Degree in Construction Engineering and Management will be a Single Major Programme that will extend over 10 semesters of full-time study. It shall contain 1 subject called Construction Engineering and Management consisting of courses shown below.

Bachelor of Engineering (Civil)

Entrance Requirements

Admission to the Bachelor of Engineering (Civil) Degree shall be as stipulated in the Faculty Special Regulation 21.10.

Programme Structure

The Programme for the Degree in Civil Engineering will be a Single Major Programme
that will extend over 10 semesters of fulltime study. It shall contain 1 subject called Civil Engineering consisting of courses shown below.

The curriculum for Levels 100 and 200 shall be stipulated in the Faculty Special Regulation 21.20.

Civil Engineering

The Department of Civil Engineering is located, along Machel Drive, in the eastern part of Gaborone City. It is one of the four departments of the Faculty of Engineering and Technology (FET), (the others being Electrical, Mechanical and Design and Technology).

Administratively, the Department of Civil Engineering is divided into sections, namely, Geotechnics, Structures, Highway, Materials, Hydrology and hydraulics, Construction and Project Management, IT, Mining, Geomatics and Water and Environmental Engineering.

In pursuit of academic excellence
