Brief Biography

Obtained a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering at the University of Botswana in 1995 and worked for a multi – disciplined engineering consultancy firm Lasco Engineering as Graduate Mechanical Engineer; joined Ove Arup & Partners, another multi-disciplined engineering consultancy firm; Joined Botswana Technology Centre, as a Processing Engineer in 1998. Graduated with an MSc degree in Postharvest and Food Preservation Engineering at the Katholieke Universeteit Leuven of Belgium in 2001. Obtained a Doctorate degree in Applied Bioscience Engineering in 2006. Was a Postdoctoral Fellow at the Department of Biosystems, Katholieke Universeteit Leuven from 2007 to 2008. Was Principal Research Scientist and Head of the Food Technology Department at the National Food Technology Research Centre, Botswana until January 2011. Joined University of Botswana as Senior Lecturer in the Department of Mechanical Engineering in February 2011. Associate Professor in the same department from October 2012. Professor in Department of Mechanical Engineering since January 2021. Head of the Department of Mechanical Engineering from January 2013 to December 2018. Acting Director of Office for International Education and Partnerships of UB between January and July 2020. Currently Dean of the Faculty of Engineering and Technology since August 2020
