Dr Malatsi is a lecturer in special education in the Department of Educational Foundations at the University of Botswana. She is a Primary school teacher by profession and has served as a lecturer at a college of Education teaching special Special Education. She later joined the Ministry of Education where she served as an Education Officer before joining the University of Botswana as a lecturer. She has attended seminars and conferences on special education both locally and Internationally and is a member and a consulting editor for The Journal of the International Association of Special Education and The African Journal on Special and Inclusive Education. Her areas of specialisation are intellectual impairments as well as early childhood special education/intervention. She also teaches general courses in special education that include among others, introduction to special education, service delivery in special education as well as strategies for working with parents of students with disabilities. Her areas of research are in early childhood special education, Reading as well as teaching and learning for students with intellectual Disabilities. She continues serving the nation in different capacities including engagements with Ministry of Basic Education as well as NGO's serving students with intellectual disabilities and other support needs.
