Oitshepile MmaB Modise is Associate Professor in the Department of Lifelong Learning and Community Development at the University of Botswana. She holds a Doctor of Philosophy in Adult Education from the Florida State University in Tallahassee, Florida. She has a Masters Degree in Vocational Education from the University of Wisconsin in Madison. She also holds a Bachelor of Arts in Humanities attained from the University of Botswana. Her areas of interest include training and development, management and leadership in adult education as well as community development. Her publications are featured in different journals and one of her strength is being multidisciplinary.

She has been involved in several curriculum development initiatives such as in the Department of Adult Education, Ministry of Education-Out of School Program and has conducted a couple of needs assessment studies in areas of inter-institutional collaboration or engagement. She has a wide experience in the areas of learning partnerships and community engagement as well as research. She is currently coordinating the Botswana Hub in an international research network known as Sustainable Futures in Africa (SFA) which was launched in March 2017 at the University of Botswana.  It is an interdisciplinary network that brings together researchers, educators and communities that acknowledge the situated and complex nature of practices and conceptions of sustainability.
