Office of the First Lady and Ministry of Education Embark on Inspiring UB Campus Tour

UB TourThe Office of the First Lady of Botswana in collaboration with the Ministry of Education and Skills Development recently organised an enriching tour of the University of Botswana campus for 40 young female students from junior schools in the Kgalagadi, North-West and Kweneng regions. The aim of the visit was to ignite a passion for higher education and STEM fields among these students.

The tour commenced at the UB Library, where the students explored its facilities and learned about its various functions. They then visited the Health Science and Pharmacy departments, gaining insights into laboratories and pharmaceutical technologies.

At the Faculty of Engineering and Technology (FET), the students witnessed how creativity and research lead to groundbreaking innovations, emphasising the importance of pursuing careers in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM). The tour concluded with a broader view of the campus, leaving the students inspired and motivated to envision a future in higher education and STEM disciplines.
