Kagiso Jacob Sello is a Senior Lecturer in Teaching and learning French as a foreign language at the University of Botswana and has been the member of the Department of French since 2003. He earned his PhD in Teaching translation techniques to students studying French as a foreign language from the University of Paris Sorbonne IV in France in 2013 and his MA in Teaching and learning French as a foreign language from the University of Franche-Comté de Besançon in 2006. He completed both his undergraduate and graduate studies at the University of Botswana (Double Major French/Environmental Sciences). His research focuses on teaching French as a foreign language, teaching translation and interpreting, linguistic social injustices faced by linguistic minorities and how translation/interpreting can be used to improve the situation. He has served as the president of the French Teachers Association of Botswana from March 2008 to December 2009. He was the chairperson of the National Panel responsible for the development of the  Junior Secondary School French syllabus from 2016 to 2019.

Apart from his teachings and research, Kagiso is a fervent supporter of Environmental sustainability in agriculture based on building and maintaining healthy soil, adapting agriculture to the local environment, practicing agriculture that helps the environment to regenerate itself, promoting biodiversity through the use of heirloom seeds.
