Comfort J. Mokgothu is a Senior Lecturer and Head of Department in the Department of Sport Science, He holds a PhD in Physical Activity & Sports Studies from the University of Pittsburgh in USA. Before joining the University he worked as an Instructor in the Department of Health & Physical Activity at the University of Pittsburgh (USA) from 2003 to 2007. He worked as a Principal Education Officer (PE) in the then Ministry of Education. As a Motor Learning & Development Specialist, his research interest involves examining relationship between physical fitness & cognitive function especially amongst children and youth as well as how children develop motor skills and the underlying factors. He has worked as a Program Director for Kinder Kinetics program at the University of Pittsburgh in the USA where he worked with 3 to 12 year olds with Autism and Cerebral Palsy and Developmental Delays. He is a member of the American Alliance for Health, Physical Education, Recreation, & Dance and the North American Society for Sport Psychology and Physical Activity. He currently sits in BNSC's Sport Development Committee board as well as Coordinator of the University's High Performance Centre.
