I joined the University of Botswana, the Department of Sociology in the early 1990s as a Staff Development Fellow (SDF), having briefly worked at the Ministry of Education within the Bursaries Department. I am currently a sociology lecturer and have taught several courses at undergraduate level in the area of research methods, sociology of health and illness, and social problems. I have also supervised final year undergraduate in their independent research projects. With respect to graduate studies, I supervise graduate students within the Masters of Arts degree in Development Studies (MADVS) and MPhil/PhD programmes.

My research interest areas are in the fields of medical education, health care organisations, migration of health care workers, particularly medical practitioners. Outside medical sociology, I have particular interest in the areas of youth and democracy, and kinship.
