Dr Mpho Keetile is a Lecturer in the Department of Population Studies (DPS) of the University of Botswana (UB). He has over 5 years’ experience of teaching various Demography & Population Studies courses at UB. Prior to joining the UB, Dr Keetile was a Lecturer at Botho University for 1 year. He was also a secondary school teacher for a period of two years where he was teaching Social Studies. He joined Department of Population Studies in 2013 for a period of four years until the end of his contract in 2017. He later joined the University of Botswana again in January 2020.
Dr Keetile teaches courses on Migration and Globalization, Migration, Urbanization and Development, Population Policies and Programmes, Population Policy of Botswana, Basic Social Science Research Methods, Integration of Population Variables into Development Planning, Introduction to Substantive Demography, and Population, law, policies and Programmes. He has supervised over 20 BA dissertations and 10 post-graduate MA Population Studies students. His main research interests include; Sexual and Reproductive Health, HIV/AIDS, Non-communicable Diseases, Health Systems, Population and Development, Youth and Population Aging.
Dr Keetile has researched and published 21 research articles in internationally reputed journals, has 12 international conference proceedings, 3 chapters in published reports and 1 policy brief. He has been involved in the production of 13 technical reports.
