Duties: (i) interpret, analyze prescriptions and dispense medicines, (ii) plan and manage the utilization of medicines as per set protocols, (iii) Participate in developing and implementing of pharmaceuticals standards of operation and guidelines (iv)orientate staff on pharmacy policies and guidelines; (v) Assist in budget preparation for pharmacy unit; (vi) develop educational materials for UB Community on medicine, interactions, side effects , etc. (vii) Participate in collaborations with strategic partners, local and international agencies/ bodies on technical cooperation. (viiii) Supervise junior personnel attached to pharmacy unit and monitor their performance (ix) Prepare reports on services provided. (x) and attend to any other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Requirements: candidates must have (i) at least a Diploma in Pharmacy or equivalent, registered with Botswana Health Professions Council (ii) At least three (3) years’ experience working in a Medical Pharmacy or working in a District and or National Referral Hospital facility. (iii) A Bachelor’s or Masters Degree in Pharmacy; Training in HIV/AIDS management and working in a tertiary institution will be added advantages.
Qualities: Strong organisational, interpersonal, oral and written communication. Ability to work effectively with students, staff and family members. Ability to work independently to manage multiple priorities. Computer literacy and counselling skills.
