NURSING SISTER (CONTRACT POSITION)

VACANCY NO: DVC SA/HS01/2022

Duties: Successful candidate will be expected to: (i) consult and provide general outpatient care to clients; (ii) Provides essential advice and guidance to other nurses, involved in clinical work to ensure quality in nursing care; (iii) participate in the development and implementation of  nursing care programs at UB; (iv) participate in development of departmental policies and procedures aligned to the national and University of Botswana health policies; (v) Assist Nursing Manager is supervision and implementation of nursing programs (vi) develop educational materials for the UB community on health and wellness  (vii) Provide counselling to patients. (viii) Supervise subordinates and monitors their progress through the performance management system (ix) prepare reports on services provided (x) and attend to any other duties as assigned by the supervisor

Requirements: Candidates should have a minimum: (I) Diploma in General nursing (II) Diploma in FNP, CHN,CMHN, Midwifery (III) At least five years’ experience working in a district facility of hospital providing nursing care The following will be an added advantage: (IV) Nursing degree e.g. Bachelor of Nursing Science or equivalent (V) Master’s Degree in Nursing Science (Psychiatry, Family Nurse Practice and Midwifery) (VI) Work in a tertiary institution will be an added advantage

Qualities: Strong organizational, interpersonal, oral and written communication. Ability to work effectively with students, staff and family members, Ability to work independently to manage multiple priorities, Computer literacy. Counselling abilities. High degree of commitment to work adhering to nursing standards and ethics.
