MANAGER, GENERAL SERVICES - VACANCY NO: IRC 870

Duties: The successful applicant will report directly to the Director, Campus Services, and will be expected to: cost effectively organise, coordinate and manage records in respect of the provision of mail handling, distribution of filing, provision of reprographics and telecommunication systems service and be able to assist in optimizing office automation facilities within the institute;  assist in cost effective use and optimization of available resources in the management of switchboard system, telephone systems and reprographics system: make recommendations for the establishment of an office automation policy and efficient provision of office support and administrative services;  prepare draft estimates for capital and recurrent costs for office and administrative services;  recommend the development of an archival policy relating to the University’s management and administrative records; liaise with Botswana Telecommunications Corporation and Botswana Postal Services on matters relating to telephone services and postal services in consultation with the Physical planer’s office; prepare periodic reports and forecasts on general services and position in the areas of income (reprographics), expenses and personnel needs on past, present and expected operation; and advise the Director Campus Services of desirable operational adjustments due to changing institutional needs.

Requirements: Applicants should have: A degree in Social Sciences or Business studies.  At least two to three years prior experience in administration. Computer literacy and knowledge of office automation is essential. Good communication skills and interpersonal relations.
