LECTURER IN PUBLIC HEALTH MEDICINE – fixed term contract (July 2020-July 2022)

VACANCY NO: FM/ FMPH 5/2020

Duties: The successful applicant will be expected to: (i) teach both undergraduate and graduate public health courses focusing on health policy and health systems research (ii) supervise students’ research projects, (iii) conduct research in his/her areas of expertise, (iv) provide service for the university, profession and community and (v) additionally, the successful candidate will be expected to undertake the following duties: research, research supervision, community service, research grant writing and resource mobilization, contribute towards departmental strategic plan development, and create relevant industry links for competency-based learning of the MMed residents nationally and or internationally (v) carry out any other duties assigned by the Head of Department.

Requirements: - The applicants should have; (i) at least a Bachelor of Medicine/Bachelor of Surgery or other recognized Medical Doctor qualification and a Master of Medicine in Public Health (MMed) with three (3) years’ experience in health systems research and policy development OR PhD in health systems research or policy development with three (3) years’ experience in health systems research and policy development.  Evidence of teaching experience, engagement in research, governance and social engagement will be an added advantage.
