VACANCY: FM/SURG 01/2020 – LECTURER (ORTHOPEDIC SURGEON)
Duties: The successful candidate will be expected to; (i) teach undergraduate medical students and postgraduate residents; (ii) conduct research in his/her areas of expertise and supervise medical students’ and residents’ research projects; (iii) provide service to the university, profession and community; (iv) provide clinical care in affiliated hospitals; and (v) carry out any other duties as assigned by the head of the department.
Requirements: Applicant should have; (i) a Bachelor’s Degree of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS/MBChB) or MD degree; (ii) a formal degree qualification as a specialist in orthopedic surgery; (iii) credentials which satisfy registration requirements as a specialist in the stated specialty with the Botswana Health Professionals Council (BHPC); and (iv) Engagement in university teaching, research and clinical services will be considered an advantage. The curriculum vitae (CV) should include a detailed list of university teaching experience/s and research works if available and clinical services rendered.
