LECTURER IN ENERGY/THERMAL ENGINEERING

FACULTY OF ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY

DEPARTMENT OF MECHANICAL ENGINEERING

VACANCY NO. IRC 1479

Duties: The successful candidate will be expected to: (i) Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in Energy/Thermal Engineering and related areas; (ii) Supervise both undergraduate and graduate student research projects; (iii) Conduct research in energy/thermal engineering and related areas, and also complement existing research activities; (iv) Participate in other academic and professional activities of the department; (v) Provide professional service and carry out any other duties as may be assigned by the Head of Department.

Requirements: Applicants should have: (i) a PhD in Mechanical Engineering or related areas; (ii) show evidence of engagement in research; (iii) teaching experience in the area of energy engineering at a university or comparable institution. Evidence of governance and social engagement will be an added advantage.

N.B. Applicants with Master of Science in Energy/Thermal Engineering or related field with a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field of at least 2(i) or equivalent may be considered under special circumstances.
