LECTURER (CONTRACT POSITION)

VACANCY NO: CAD/CSSU1/2022

Duties: The successful candidate will be expected to: (i) Teach Communication and Academic Literacy courses to undergraduate students in any of the following faculties: Humanities, Business, Science, Education, Engineering and Technology, Health Sciences and Social Sciences; (ii) Conduct research in relevant areas; (iii) Participate in the academic and professional activities of the Unit, and (iv) Carry out any other duties as may be assigned by the Deputy Director of the Unit.

Requirements: Applicant must have: (i) a PhD in Communication Studies or related fields; (ii) show evidence of engagement in research. The following will be added advantages: (i) teaching experience at the university or comparable institution;(ii) evidence of scholarship in Applied Linguistics, Communication Studies, Language and Literacy Education, English for Specific Purposes (ESP), English for Academic Purposes (EAP) or related fields, (iii) evidence of Governance and Social Engagement

NB: In special circumstances, a Master’s Degree in Communication Studies, Applied Linguistics, Language and Literacy Education, English for Specific Purposes (ESP), English for Academic Purposes (EAP), or related fields, and a Bachelor’s Degree in the same fields with at least a second class, first division (2.1) pass will be considered.
