FACULTY OF MEDICINE
DEPARTMENT OF ANAESTHESIA & CRITICAL CARE MEDICINE
LECTURER (3-YEAR CONTRACT)
VACANCY NO: FM/DACCM02/2023
Duties: the successful applicant will: (i) teach undergraduates and graduate students; (ii) supervise research projects; (iii) initiate, promote and participate in research; (iv) provide academic leadership through programme development and research; (v) participate in all academic and professional activities of the University, the Faculty and Department; (vi) engage with the university, profession and community; (vii) carry out any other duties and responsibilities as and when assigned by the head of department.
Requirements: the successful applicant should have: (i) at least a Masters of Medicine (MMed) or equivalent in Anaesthesiology and/or Critical Care Medicine; (ii) a first degree in medicine (MBBS, MBChB, MD) from a recognised institution; (iii) the qualification must registered with or registrable by Botswana Health Professions Council with specialist status; (iv) show evidence of engagement in research, including published journal articles, presenting scholarly work at seminars and conferences locally as well as internationally, participation in forums and collaborative programmes, participation in reference committees.
Added advantages: (i) teaching experience at a University or comparable institution; (ii) evidence of governance and social engagement.
The curriculum vitae (CV) should contain a detailed list of the publications; clearly specifying titles of publications, dates published, name(s) of publishers and name(s) of co-authors if any. Publications should be categorised into: books, book chapters, monographs, refereed and non-refereed journals, etc.
