Applications are invited from suitably qualified and experienced individuals, for the position of Manager, Appointments and Administration in the Department of Human Resources.

Requirements: A minimum of Degree in Social Sciences or related area.  Two to three years experience in human resource management, and thorough knowledge of Botswana’s employment law and practice.  In addition candidate should have strong interpersonal and communication skills, organizational skills, negotiating skills, analytical and be innovative, assertive and pro-active. Knowledge of computerized Human Resources record systems is essential.

Duties: The successful candidate shall be expected to plan, organize, manage and control the day-to-day cost effective (i) administration and implementation of the University’s General Conditions of Service; (ii) organisation and management of recruitment and selection, appointment and promotion procedures; (iii) coordination of performance management systems: and (iv) maintenance of accurate records and statistics relating to staff matters to enhance the ability of the University to attract, retain and motivate staff; (v) liaise with departments and faculties on manpower requirements and vacancies and drafts vacancy advertisements for approval; (vi) ensure administrative arrangements are provided for travel on first appointment and contractual obligations relating to housing , etc. (vii) manage recruitment budget and authorize expenditure within budget allocations.
