Duties: The successful applicants will be expected to engage in teaching, setting and invigilating tests/examinations, marking and other related duties in the DABS programme.
Requirements: Applicants should (i) have a relevant Doctorate in respective subject/s; [NOTE: Applicants holding a relevant Master’s Degree and a Bachelor’s degree of at least second class, first division (2.1) or equivalent may be considered under special circumstances for appointment (ii) show evidence of prior engagement in research. (iii) Academic leadership and teaching experience at a University or comparable institution will be added advantages. The CV should inter alia, provide a detailed list of courses (if any) ever taught and the levels at which they were taught, as well as research and publications where applicable.
PART-TIME COORDINATORS IN DIPLOMA IN ACCOUNTING AND BUSINESS STUDIES
The University of Botswana invites applications from suitably qualified persons for the posts of Part-Time Coordinators at the following centres: a) Lobatse b) Selebi Phikwe, c) Mahalapye, d) Maun, e) Jwaneng. Applicants should already be resident in Botswana holding a valid residence permit (if non-citizen) and stationed at or near their respective centres.
Duties: Successful candidates will be expected to supervise and coordinate the DABS Programme by being present at their respective centers (programme venue) from Monday to Friday between 5-30 PM and 8-30 PM and report to the Coordinator at Centre for Continuing Education, University of Botswana, in Gaborone. Other duties include helping the Lecturers in conducting test/examinations, stocking study materials and text books, accounting for the books received from the Bookstore, registration of students and assist in the collection of fees; ensuring proper class room facilities and Computer facilities with school authorities, processing the lecturers’ claims, preparing time-tables and finally the overall coordination in all respects.
Requirements: A Master’s Degree qualification in Accounting or Business Studies related areas, with relevant experience. However, a first degree in Accounting or Business Studies, related areas with relevant experience will also be considered in the absence of Masters Degree holders. The applicants should already be in Botswana holding a valid residence permit (if non-citizen) and stationed at their respective centres.
The classes are held between 6:00 – 8:30PM at each of the above centres.
The appointment will be from August 2022 to July 2023.
PART TIME COMPUTER LAB DEMONSTRATORS IN DIPLOMA IN ACCOUNTING AND BUSINESS STUDIES
The University of Botswana invites applications from suitably qualified persons for the posts of Part-Time Computer Lab Demonstrators at the following centres: (a) Gaborone (b) Lobatse (c) Francistown (d) Jwaneng (e) Mahalapye (f) Selebi Phikwe (g) Maun. Duties: To assist the Lecturers in the computer lab in ICT-021 and ICT022 (Computing and Information skills courses) and any other duties as maybe assigned by their respective Coordinators.
Requirements: At least a Bachelor’s Degree in the area of Computing/Business Information Systems. In the absence of Degree holders, Diploma holders will also be considered. Teaching experience at tertiary level will be an added advantage.
NB: Candidates who were previously engaged should submit a letter of intention to continue with lecturing in the Department of Extra Mural and Public Education.
