VACANCY NO: IRC 1059 - ASSISTANT DIRECTOR (AFFILIATED HEALTH TRAINING INSTITUTIONS)

Duties: (i) work with the Deputy Director, Affiliated Institutions, to plan appropriate activities throughout the University and its Affiliated Institutions to achieve the purpose of this position, (ii) provide leadership and advice in development and implementation of quality assurance systems for Affiliated Health Training Institutions, (iii) provide advice and assistance to enhance the effectiveness of systems, faculty, staff and programme at the Affiliated Health Training Institutions, (iv) develop and monitor, processes of examination, communication of results, reports and working papers (v) undertake research and publishing relevant findings on affiliation including but not limited to quality assurance and examination systems and processes, (vi) assist principals and heads of departments in promoting academic excellence in their programmes, (vii) provide consultation and advice to appropriate departments in the University, Ministry of Health, Affiliated Health Training Institutions and relevant health professional organizations. 

Requirements: At least a Masters degree or equivalent in a relevant academic discipline. Evidence of professional training as a nurse and higher education in nursing and nursing education. Evidence of relevant research and publication would be an added advantage. At least 5 years experience at the tertiary level, excellent interpersonal skills in a variety of higher educational contexts. Evidence of organizational and human resource development skills. Good level of computer skills is essential. Evidence of experience in administering/managing appropriate programmes.
